The 1922 D Lincoln Wheat Cent is one of the most notable coins in American numismatics. Its fame comes from the fact that the Philadelphia Mint did not produce any pennies that year; all legitimate 1922 pennies were struck at the Denver Mint.
Design and Specifications
Obverse (Front): Features Victor David Brenner’s classic right-facing profile of President Abraham Lincoln. The inscriptions include "IN GOD WE TRUST" curved along the top edge, "LIBERTY" to the left of the portrait, and the year "1922" to the right.
Reverse (Back): Displays the denomination "ONE CENT" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" prominently in the center, flanked by two curved wheat stalks. The motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" arches across the top.
